It’s said that sound is 50% of a film, but film sound is one of the most enigmatic components of creating a film. This workshop introduces filmmakers (directors, writers) to how sound contributes to their stories on-screen, and how they can start thinking about the role of sound design from the writing and pre-production stages of filmmaking through production and post-production. The workshop includes hands-on listening and noise-making exercises, but there is no technical component. And from 1996 to 2004, she worked as a contract sound editor for\u00a0Tattersall Sound<\/a>\u00a0in Toronto, CA, under\u00a0Jane Tattersall<\/a>\u00a0and co\u2019s top-notch apprenticeship and high quality training. Since 2016, she is teaching Sound for film at the dbs\u00a0Berlin film school.<\/span><\/p>\n This festival is aiming to support aspiring filmmakers and other interested in filmmaking, who are not usually represented in mainstream cinema.
