It’s said that sound is 50% of a film, but film sound is one of the most enigmatic components of creating a film. This workshop introduces filmmakers (directors, writers) to how sound contributes to their stories on-screen, and how they can start thinking about the role of sound design from the writing and pre-production stages of filmmaking through production and post-production. The workshop includes hands-on listening and noise-making exercises, but there is no technical component. Please bring pens and paper for the listening exercises, as well as any small objects that you feel makes an interesting sound.

Length 2.5 hours

Price: 12€* / 18€

Instructor: Juli Saragosa

Venue: Bei Craft

Juli Saragosa is an award-winning filmmaker and sound designer. She has 8 years of musical training in piano (which includes classical western music history and theory) from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, CA.
