Workshop: WOMEN & TECH – How to Shoot a Video Tutorial

Fixing your bike breaks, learning camera basics, making pizza dough or building the best DIY shelf for your dozens of external hard drives without going crazy over all those cables: the internet is full of tutorials teaching you to do all kinds of things.

Many of these tutorials, especially these focused on tech topics, are made and presented by men and boys, repeating and enforcing the stereotype that the world of tech is a man’s world.

TINT Filmkollektiv has teamed up with SHE*FIX Berlin in order to make, promote and enable free-of-charge tech tutorials made by women*. Because this is so much fun and and a great way to learn filmmaking basics, TINT Filmkollektiv would like to offer a workshop at Berlin Feminist Film Week 2019 about how to make video tutorials – a meta-tutorial!

In a 3 hour class, we will show the participants how to come up with a plan, which equipment they need, how to record image and sound and what to consider for editing.

TINT Filmkollektiv is a Berlin-based, international women*s filmmaking collective. TINT members develop, produce, direct, shoot, edit and master documentary, fictional and experimental films.
