Director: Bane Fakih
Bane Fakih is a writer/director originally from Beirut, whose writing focuses mainly on relationships. Her first short film Assil and Jad was awarded Best Short Film at the European Film Festival of Beirut, Best Student Film in Nadi Li Kol El Nass, Best Original Screenplay at the New York City International Film Festival -where it also was nominated for Best Actress in a leading role and Best Director- and participated in various local festivals including the “Meshkal” Festival in Beirut. Bane holds a BA from the Saint Joseph University of Beirut and is currently pursuing her MFA degree in Screenwriting/Directing at Columbia University. During her time at Columbia Bane has been awarded the Alex Sichel Award in Screenwriting ‘17, directed Vibes and wrote the narrative feature Keep It Together, about a lesbian relationship during the Lebanese Civil War. In addition, she lead-acted in the award-winning short Nice Talking To You. Bane is currently working on writing her second feature.
