American Asian
Flustered by confusing ethnic labels, Diana takes her brother to visit their childhood home as a way to define who she is. At the house, the sibling pair hash out their opposing ties to the neighborhood and find that the labels don’t make a difference on who they are.
Director: Rowena Pedrena
Currently, living in Los Angeles, Rowena is a screenwriting and directing MFA graduate. To pay the bills, Rowena works as a freelance Associate Producer and Production Coordinator for various reality shows. In her free time she works on narrative shorts, web content and develops her own content for distribution.
In the future Rowena hopes to work professionally as a director and writer. As a gay Asian American she looks to create stories and characters than seamlessly portray those ideals on screen in non-stereotypical ways. In addition, she hopes to develop a foundation for Asian American artists to find support (both financially and artistically) in the professional creative community to be able to tell their stories and distribute them for the big and small screen.
